Already
for 60 years peacemaking forces of UNO operate in the world. On their
account there are some tens of operations, about 2500 thousand of
killed peacemakers, successes and failures. On the one hand,
peacemaking activity looks noble - «blue helmets», not sparing the
lives, try to prevent the armed conflicts. On the other hand - trying
to prevent and halt wars, UNO is breaking natural motion of things. And
it is still unknown, that does humanity much damage - wars or attempts
to settle conflicts by peaceful way. In order to make conclusions,
let's look attentively at UNO and its peacemakers.
Structure
The operations of UNO on maintenance of the peace include three basic types of activity:
- warning of the armed conflicts and peacemaking;
- maintenance of the peace;
- peacemaking (help in the structural changes in the countries and
regions which participate or participated in the armed conflicts).
Failures
Peacemaking operations are often completed a fiasco: the last
example of it was war in South Ossetia. In some cases the failures of
peacemakers bring destructive influence.

I dare to express my own point on view on this important question.
It seems to me, that there is no benefit from peacemakers . They (in
particular UNO) did not settle any conflict clearly, halted any war.
Simply because, unfortunately, principle decisions are taken by
national politicians, but not international officials. Besides, the
staff of UNO in most cases is not able to understand all specific of
mutual relations in a particular region.
From all above-mentioned there is a global and philosophical
question - is it necessary to try artificially to stop or prevent wars?
I am convinced - no. War is so natural for humanity state, as well as
the peace. Living for a long time without worries and troubles of
war-time, nation (or group of nations) begins to grow fat and decline
in health.
The most characteristic example of stagnation and degeneration is
Western Europe and States. It is necessary to say that America, in
general turns into the country of impotents (not in sexual, but more
wide sense). Its political correctness (again in wide sense) exceeded
the scopes of good sense.
The old Europe, which will soon turn into emirates and caliphates.
There is a reason of the so-called "conflict of civilizations" between
the West and East. As a matter of fact, it is contradiction between
satisfied weak rabbits and hungry and hyperactive wolves.
At all times (except the newest history) war served humanity as an
universal mean - division of territories, reduction of excessively
overgrowing population and maintenance of general tone. Depriving
humanity of wars is impossible, eventually «militarists» will simply
eat «pacifists» without salt, after that powers will begin to fight
against each other.
Some especially sensible readers can blame me for the cannibalism.
They say, any war is death of peaceful people. Undoubtedly, it so. But
not less people annually die from natural disasters, illnesses,
accidents, finally - without any benefit for the whole humanity.
