Opening the session of the
Cabinet Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated that Ukraine would have enough gas for this
winter, ForUm's correspondent reported.
According to the Premier,
she discussed with Gazprom head Aleksey Miller the question concerning gas
pumping into the gas storage of Ukraine in order to provide stable gas
supply for the winter period.
Tymoshenko noted that the
state policy regarding pumping of Russian gas into Ukrainian gas storages had
been completely destroyed for the last years.
“We have improved the
situation and start pumping the gas, being purchased by Naftogas at 179.5
dollars per a thousand cu m,” Tymoshenko said.
She also informed that
eight milliard cu m of imported gas had been already pumped.
“If yesterday’s agreements
are in force, we will be able to pump about 14-15 milliard cu m of gas. This
gas belongs to Naftogas, which means that the price will be same as this year,”
the Premier underlined.
She also reminded that
before “the gas had been pumped at one price, but then sold at overrated price.”
It caused bankruptcy of Naftogas Ukrainy, but the situation ahs changed,”
Tymoshenko summed up.
