Tanks to appear in center of Kyiv on Thursday

The full-dress rehearsal of the military parade on occasion of the 17th anniversary of the Ukrainian Independence will take part at 20.00 in the Khreshchatyk Street in the center of Kyiv on Thursday, press-service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine informed.

As reported earlier, to implement the Ukrainian President’s Decree of June 20, 2008, Defense Minister of Ukraine Yuri Yekhanurov issued an order on preparing and carrying out solemn measures on occasion of the Independence Day.

In particualr, the military parade is due to start at 10.00 a.m. on August 24, at the Maydan Nezalezhnosti Squre in center of Kyiv. Armor and military aircraft will be involved in the military parade.

On the whole, 144 armor and materiel units and 30 aircrafts (8 helicopters and 22 jets) will take part in the parade.

More than 3 thousand servicemen will march down the center of Kyiv during the military parade.
