Yulia Tymoshenko: Ukraine will come out of the crisis reformed and strong

The Government will carry out economic reforms despite the global financial crisis. This was disclosed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko today, opening the Government’s special sitting on the issues of attracting investments.

Yulia Tymoshenko noted that none of the fundamental reforms in any sphere were carried out during the years of independence in Ukraine.

“Now, when the country is hit by the crisis, we need to reform and prevent Ukraine from getting crushed by this crisis but make Ukraine coming out of the crisis reformed and strong,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed, Government portal reported.

The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine among other countries is in the last places in the issues of the GDP energy intensity and the use of renewed energy sources. Yulia Tymoshenko said that the Government would struggle against drawbacks developed during the years of independence. That’s why, one of the priority directions of the Government is the introduction of energy generation projects from renewed sources.
