Olexandr Turchynov: Use of timber as alternative energy source acquires strategic importance

The Fist Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Turchynov stressed during a meeting on the problems and prospects of the development of forest branch that use of wood as alternative energy source is acquiring strategic importance, Government portal reported.

Olexandr Turchynov underlined it is crucial to put on industrial basis the production of wood shavings, as energy source, directly in the forest. According to him, the Government will back the wood branch in the issues of purchase of necessary equipment to produce biofuel from tree chips. Besides, the Government will facilitate to creating the ways of access to feedstock resources.

According to the First Vice Premier, forestry belongs to those scanty branches the amount of which grew last year and ensured incomes into the budget which are 34% more from 2007 showings.
