Turtle Day is announced in Kyiv zoo

The action takes place six years running and it is dedicated to support of the single species of the turtles, which live in Ukraine in the natural conditions - a fresh-water turtle, according to the press service of Kyiv. Zoo.

The specialists say that though the fresh-water turtles populate large territories, the number of fresh-water turtles went down considerably. The fresh-water turtles are recorded to International Red Book of International Union for the Conservation of Nature as endangered species. The fresh-water turtles also recorded to the list of rare animal species of Europe.
